Total COVID-19 cases in Hong Kong reach 803, 37 newly confirmed cases reported today (Updated : 6.20pm)

2nd April 2020 – (Hong Kong) Total COVID-19 cases in Hong Kong surpassed 800 today. Dr. Chuang Tsuk-Kwan from Centre for Health Protection announced this afternoon that there are a total of 37 new cases as of 4pm today. 30 of them had travelled overseas including a 2-year-old child who visited Sweden with family members. 17 of them are overseas students. Total tally now stands at 803. (comprising 802 confirmed cases and one probable case). The newly reported cases announced today iThere are 673 patients under isolation currently. So far, 154 patients who had COVID-19 confirmed or probable infections have been discharged upon recovery.7 patients have been discharged including Cases 118, 296, 345, 365, 418, 487 and 585. 604 patients are still being treated at 14 public hospitals and 8 of them are in critical condition. 8 are in serious condition. 4 newly confirmed patients are waiting to be admitted to hospitals.nvolve 21 males and 16 females aged between two and 71.Earlier today, there were 10 preliminary cases announced including a 34-year-old woman who visited All Night Long Bar in TST. Two more students studying in U.K. aged 19 and 22 years are currently being treated at Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Tuen Mun Hospital respectively.A medical employee who works at Tuen Mun Hospital also tested positive in preliminary diagnosis after visiting London in mid-March. He stopped working from 9th March onwards. He did not work at the isolation ward for COVID-19 patients. Total cases linked to bar cluster have increased to 67.767th case is a 64-year-old woman who developed symptoms on 23rd March. She was admitted to hospital on 30th March after vomiting. She was later transferred to Queen Elizabeth Hospital.The 769th case visited many bars in Yau Ma Tei and Causeway Bay on 15th, 16th, 18th and March during incubation period. The source of infection is still unknown.
The 774th case is linked to the karaoke team cluster.
793rd case is the family member of case 406. 406th patient visited U.S.
796th case is the friend of 756th case who works at Reenex beauty parlour. They went water skiing, dinner and hiking together on 27th and 29th March.
797th case is a 33-year-old woman who works at New Beauty Salon in Causeway Bay. She developed fever on 25th March. She was wearing masking during beauty treatment but customers did not wear masks. Dr.Cheung said that the government is considering whether to suspend all beauty parlours and massage parlours for 14 days.
798th case is linked to 714th case.
801st case is the husband of the personal trainer of 719th case. 719th case visited F45 Training gym in Pok Fu Lam and had a personal trainer. The husband of the personal trainer i.e. 801st case also visited the same gym but he has not met 719th patient. 801st patient developed fever and cough on 31st March and it is suspected that it was linked to his wife and the gym. The 801st case is Anthony Clark, the co-owner and General Manager of F45 Training gym in Wong Chuk Hang and Quarry Bay, the husband of Shelly Clark, the personal trainer of 719th case and she is currently under quarantine. Both of them are from Australia. Three of the personal trainers of Case 719 including Shelly Clark are currently under quarantine.

802nd case is the family member of 312nd case who is the employee linked to the Cheung Lung Indstrial building office cluster in Cheung Sha Wan.
As at noon today, public hospitals had reported to the Department of Health the admission of 146 patients (65 male and 81 female, aged 2 to 94) in the past 24 hours who met the reporting criteria of COVID-19. Appropriate tests have been arranged for the patients.
